About me

The Founder

Bermuda-based Latoya Bridgewater brings with her 9 years of Kemetic yoga experience and has been trained in both Yoga Skills with Yirser Ra Hotep and Tjef Neteru with Aunkh Aakhu. She has been teaching Kemetic Yoga and instructing individuals and groups for 8 years.

The mother of 4 children is charged with the spirit of helping her community and others. Not only is she a yoga instructor, but she is also a vegan chef and teaches people how to prepare meals to nourish them physically and mentally.

The Practice

Empowered Me Wellness (EMW) is a healing environment created by Latoya Bridgewater for the community of people, parents, teachers, and students striving to learn, heal, grow and work optimally.

EMW is rooted in Kemetic yoga practice which is the ancient Egyptian system of Yoga enlightenment based upon the practices of physical movements combined with controlled deep breathing and meditation.

EMW also provides a print guidebook to assist teachers and parents in the classroom. EMW is committed to providing teachers, parents, and students with the tools and techniques that assist in cultivating a safe, peaceful, and engaging environment by encouraging healthy relationships and mental and emotional wellbeing.
