what we do

The Practice

Empowered Me Wellness (EMW) is a healing environment created by Latoya Bridgewater for the community of people, parents, teachers, and students striving to learn, heal, grow and work optimally.

EMW is rooted in Kemetic yoga practice which is the ancient Egyptian system of Yoga enlightenment based upon the practices of physical movements combined with controlled deep breathing and meditation.

EMW also provides a print guidebook to assist teachers and parents in the classroom. EMW is committed to providing teachers, parents, and students with the tools and techniques that assist in cultivating a safe, peaceful, and engaging environment by encouraging healthy relationships and mental and emotional wellbeing.

This is an absolutely wonderful program! It not only benefits the students but, I also feel the benefits. Thank you for thinking about the teachers when you created this!

Middle School Teacher

I noticed that the children are more focused and a lot more settled when we start class with the program…it’s new to most of them, but they enjoy doing it.

Middle School, Dance Teacher

Practicing with Latoya has made me realize that yoga is so much more than just postures. She teaches us to explore the relationship we have with ourselves through practice.”
