A Lived Practice

Latoya Bridgewater is a Yoga Therapist and wellness practitioner with over 15 years of experience in yoga and mindfulness. Her journey from yoga teacher to therapist has deepened her understanding of the powerful relationship between the body, nervous system, emotions, and lived experience.

Through her work, Latoya creates spaces where people can pause, reconnect, and understand themselves in new ways. Her approach blends yoga therapy, nervous system regulation, mindfulness, and ancestral wisdom to support individuals, families, and organizations in moving beyond simply surviving — toward healing, resilience, and thriving.

Rooted in Everyday Healing

Empowered Me Wellness grew out of a simple belief: that nervous system regulation belongs in everyday life — helping individuals, families, and organizations find safety, connection, and purpose right where they are.

Beyond Resilience

Original Framework

My Healing Philosophy

Regulate

Before we can thrive, our nervous system needs safety. When the body has spent years adapting to stress, trauma, overwork, or constant responsibility, it can forget what safety feels like. Regulation is the first step back.

Reconnect

Healing happens when we reconnect with our bodies, our stories, and our communities. This is where somatic practice, reflection, and ancestral wisdom meet — not as separate tools, but as one integrated path.

Restore

Lasting change comes from practices that honor both science and ancestral wisdom. Restoration isn't about becoming someone new — it's about helping your body remember what safety feels like, for good.

"Healing isn't about becoming someone new. It's about helping your body remember what safety feels like."
